The most competitive business companies have understood that being able to inspire people is a fundamental skill, and that in the 21st century world we live in, the only way to win over people’s hearts and minds is through mastering storytelling and public speaking.
We tend to believe that some people are born with such skills and a natural charisma, while others are simply not gifted with this art. And yet, anyone can become a great orator, as long as one has the desire to deliver a message, train oneself and follow the right method. Brightness assists you in becoming a orator worthy of the best TED Talks.   ​

01 — MASTERCLASS “REVEAL THE SPEAKER WITHIN YOU !” (1h30)

Brightness’s masterclass “Reveal the speaker within you !” is the opportunity to raise awareness amongst your co-workers about the pitfalls of public speaking. One of the coaches in our team, those behind the training of our speakers for TEDxParis and L’ÉCHAPPÉE VOLÉE, will give you the first keys to a successful public speech. This masterclass covers the method (1 hour) and discussions with the Brightness coach (30 min), without any practical application.

 

02 — “THE BASICS OF A TALK” (½ day)

Collective initiation - In French or English, inter-company, physical attendance required. Number of participants : 10 maximum
This half day masterclass is the opportunity to introduce to your teams the fundamentals of a successful speech. It starts with a training on the theoretical aspect of the Brightness method, followed by a discussion with the coach on the best ways to integrate this method in their professional daily life. The teams are then asked to take a critical look at video extracts, and identify the positives and negatives of each public speech performances. The masterclass ends with a practical application of the first step of “speech building” : identify the message.

 

03 — “THE ART OF DELIVERING A TALK” (1 day)

Collective training - In French or English, inter or within companies, physical attendance required. Number of participants : 10 maximum
Brightness, as a certified training institute, offers a one day training, divided into two parts (method and practice) to teach you how to master the art of public speaking.

Session 1 :
Introduction to the Brightness method, which highlights the good practices required to prepare one’s speech (identify the target and the message, structure its content, be attentive to the introduction and conclusion, prepare slides and look at the technical aspects). The coach also takes the time to discuss the best ways to integrate this method to one’s professional daily life. The teams are also asked to take a critical look at video extracts, and discuss and identify with the coach the positives and negatives of each public speech performances.

Session 2 :
This is the practical application of the method, where each participant is asked to present a 3min talk*, in front of the coach and the other team members. After each performance, the coach gives out general tips (both in substance and in form) and more personal advice on a one-to-one debrief. Taking into account these tips, the team members (and this time with a partner) rework their speech, for a second round or public speaking.

*Pre-requisite : A 3min speech (without slides) to be prepared before the masterclass, following the Brightness guidelines (1 week before the training).

 

04 — THE ART OF STORYTELLING (1 day)

Collective training - In French or English, inter companies, physical attendance required. Number of participants : 10 maximum
As an Authorized Training Organization Office, Brightness proposes a one-day training divided into two sessions, methodology and practice, in order to master the keys of storytelling.

Session 1 :
Theoretical presentation on how to build a story. This includes decoding the various narrative formats and a special focus on the techniques to tell, popularize and simplify a story.

Session 2 :
Concrete practice with two exercises :
- “From ordinary to extraordinary : each participant is asked to pick a subject linked to current companies’ issues and will have to turn it into a captivating three-minutes story, supported by one of our coaches.
- “Simplify and keep the essential”: based on a complex subject, each participant is asked to imagine a story that eases the understanding and valorize the topic without losing the meaning. Each participant is then asked to tell its story in front of the group.

 

05 — REVEAL THE SPEAKER YOU WERE BORN TO BE ! (2 days)

Collective training - FR or EN, intra company. Number of participants : 10 maximum
During 2 days, learn to master all the keys to create and deliver a talk! Based on the same sessions 1 and 2 from the trainings “The art of storytelling” and “The art of delivering a talk”, this course mixes theory and practice to enable the participants to perfectly master the process to create a short and impactful talk.  Get familiar with the storytelling techniques, define the message to convey, popularize your expertise, work on a catchy introduction and impactful conclusion, design your slides or illustrations, learn how to memorize and rehearse, master your body language, your voice and tone… All the key steps will be practiced !

 

06 — MEDIA TRAINING (2 days)

Collective training - FR or EN, intra company. Number of participants : 10 maximum
Cette approche théorique est complétée par de nombreux exercices pratiques de simulation filmés pendant lesquels les stagiaires incarnent tour à tour l'intervieweur et l’interviewé dans différentes situations, plus ou moins confortables.
After a quick analysis of the current media landscape and a description of the media constraints, needs and strategies, the coach will share its best practices to prepare an interview : get to know your target, define your message, write your “house of messages”, imagine all the potential questions, select the most relevant examples…
Then the coach will focus on the interview techniques and how to be ready to face any situation, avoid pitfalls, manage your stress and emotions, stick to a short format to better meet media’s expectations.
This theoretical approach is complemented by various practical simulation exercises that will be filmed. During each exercise, the trainees will successively embody both roles of interviewer and interviewee in increasingly complex and tricky situations.

02 — Individual coaching programs

01 — INDIVIDUAL COACHING (4 x 1 hour)

One-to-one coaching - FR or EN, face-to-face or visio-conference
The program is designed to enable each trainee to deliver a short and impactful talk, worthy of the best TED talks. The program is based on 4 individual sessions, 1 hour each. It starts with the definition of the message to convey, the ranking of idea and the global design of the talk. It also includes the slides design and the work on form (body language, voice, tone, gesture, silences, look…) that cannot be separated from the content in order to captivate the audience.

The preparation implies:
- a method tested and approved by more than 1000 speakers
- a collaborative work between the trainer and the trainees
- the preparatory work of the trainer between each session
- the goodwill and kindness of the trainer to encourage and challenge the trainee
- best practices delivered throughout the sessions

 

02 — EXECUTIVES TRAINING (4x1 hour)

One-to-one coaching - FR or EN, face-to-face or visio-conference
Designed to meet Executives constraints, this training aims at revealing your style and personality as a speaker, by delivering an inspiring talk, worthy of the best TED talks.
Based on a method approved by more than 1000 speakers, the coach helps the trainee build his talk through 4 individual sessions.
The coach assists the trainee in defining the message, prioritising ideas, selecting the most relevant anecdotes and choosing the best words. The coach also advises on stage performance techniques (gesture, body language, voice and tone, silences, look, movement…) that are as essential as content to captivate an audience.

The preparation implies:
- a method tested and approved by more than 1000 speakers
- a collaborative work between the trainer and the trainee
- the preparatory work of the trainer between each session
- the goodwill and kindness of the trainer to encourage and challenge the trainee
- best practices delivered throughout the sessions
This training also includes the design of slides in a TED-like style.

 

03 — START-UP E-COACHING (3x1 hour + 1 optionnal hour)

One-to-one coaching - FR or EN, online
Shorter and more flexible than a classical face-to-face format, this three-session training is perfectly designed to prepare a startup pitch. It enables to help defining the message, prioritizing ideas, structuring the pitch, simplifying and popularize the content. The training has been tested and approved by startups founders and intrapreneurs. The objective : learn how to convince an audience in a few minutes. At the end of the sessions, the trainee will have a fully prepared pitch, adaptable to any target.
A 4th optional hour can be added in order to apprehend stage performance techniques (body language, voice and tone, look…).

 

04 — MODERATOR TRAINING (1 x 2 hours and 2 x 1 hour)

One-to-one coaching - FR or EN, online or face-to-face
Moderating an event is a crucial role. The master of ceremonies guarantees the respect of rhythm and of the event editorial line. This role cannot be improvised. During the first session, the moderator will first be briefed on the event editorial line and tone. Then, every profile and subject presented during the event are described and analysed (the speakers’ biographies and script can be sent upstream the session) in order to enable the moderator to start writing the introductions and transitions.

The following sessions are dedicated to the improvement and refining of the moderator’s texts and to the stage performance rehearsal. The coach will give all the best practices to deliver a dynamic performance.

 

05 —  MEDIA TRAINING (1x4 hours)

One-to-one coaching - FR or EN, face-to-face
Journalists seek information, not an institutional speech. They are trained to be critical and carefully prepare each interview. So why would you not do the same? The media landscape has evolved towards new editorial expectations:
- the necessity to find out a scoop, a news that enables them to differentiate from other media
- the generalization of short formats due to the massive use of social networks
- the increasing need for a ready-to-use content to face limited space issues on the websites or magazines
- the increasing polyvalence of journalists

In order to be fully prepared to answer these expectations, the training includes:
- structuring and popularizing the message
- master the interview techniques
- work on oral techniques (voice, tone, silence, gesture, look...)

 

06 — LEADERSHIP TRAINING (1x4 hours and 2x1 hour)

One-to-one coaching - FR or EN, face-to-face
Designed to assists managers in their strategic positioning, transition or new arrival within a company, this training enables you to learn how to tell your personal story, experience, involvements and aspirations in any situation. The program is based on exchanges, the definition messages, methodological tools for an efficient communication and practical exercises. The two one-hour sessions aim at debriefing and adapting the message et the attitude.
